InCopy and InDesign 6.04 Update Now Available

This morning, Adobe released the “6.04″ updater, a significant bug fix for the Mac and Windows versions of InDesign CS4 and InCopy CS4.  You can download the updater application directly from within either program — look for the “Check for Updates” command — or go to Adobe’s Download > Updates section of their web site [...]

InCopy for Editors Webinar: Two New Dates, Same Discount Code

As I mentioned in a previous post, Copyediting magazine asked me to present a webinar for their subscribers and the general public called InCopy for Editors. Unfortunately, it took us too long to resolve some initial technical difficulties (oh you gotta love them computers—but we figured it out) during the originally-scheduled presentation, so we had [...]

New Plug-in Saves Versions of Workflow Stories

One of the most frequent questions I hear from new InDesign/InCopy workflow users (or publishers considering moving to it) is, “How can we save a version of a story we’ve checked out?”
Mainly it’s editors who ask the question, but designers too would appreciate the ability to occasionally save a version of the contents of a [...]

Discount Code for “Editing in InCopy” Webinar

Copyediting magazine has asked me to present a 60-minute live webinar (plus an optional 30 minutes for Q&A) to its subscribers and interested attendees on Adobe InCopy. The session is this coming Tuesday [will be rescheduled due to technical difficulties! Oh those pesky computers. I'll announce the new date(s) here when they're confirmed] but I [...]

InCopy CS4 Gets 4 Stars from Macworld Magazine

It’s always a welcome surprise to read about InCopy in a trade magazine, especially when you can tell the author actually uses the program (as opposed to recasting a press release as an article). (As if Adobe ever writes press releases about InCopy.)
Such is the case with Macworld magazine’s review of Adobe InCopy CS4, just [...]

InCopy and InDesign CS4 Free Trials Available

Want to see if the InDesign/InCopy CS4 workflow will work for you? You can now download fully-enabled trial versions of each CS4 program from Adobe’s web site. They’re available for both Macintosh and Windows platforms, in English and other localized language versions.
Inexplicably, InCopy CS4 is not a “featured product” on the trial downloads page … [...]

Top Three New Features in InCopy CS4

With all the hoopla about the second coming the announcement of Adobe Creative Suite 4, you may be wondering … hey, what about InCopy? Where’s the press release? Where’s the live webcast? It’s part of the Creative Suite, isn’t it?
Well, yes and no. It’s called “InCopy CS3″ (or whatever version you have) because it’s designed [...]

My sincere apologies for neglecting this site in the past few months. Here’s what I replied to one of [...]

CS3 Updates Available from Adobe

CS3 users, are you up to date with the latest version of InCopy and InDesign? Look at your About screen (choose About InCopy or About InDesign from the program menus) to see the version. If it says “5.0″ with no extra numbers then you’re out of date.
Adobe released an update, 5.0.1 (CS3 = version 5) [...]
