I'm relatively new to ID and IC, so I've been a bit confused about creating versions in InDesign. Considering that at least for myself, I would like to capture versions of the file before major changes, such as placing a large pdf, I was hoping that I could save a version of the ID file pre-placement. Chances are that I'm just confused about how the IV works. Not really an editor or anything similar. I'm a scientist who needs/likes to have good looking reports, often with an enormous number of figures, tables, etc. At least, that's my excuse for not being more competent with the software.
